Bowman Rebecchi Welcomes Cragburn Gate To Factoring Portfolio

Bowman Rebecchi is delighted to welcome the owners of the historic Cragburn Gate in Gourock to our growing Factoring portfolio.

Enjoying a desirable waterfront location, Cragburn Gate was previously managed by Morison Walker and sits proudly at the heart of Gourock’s Esplanade at the promenade.

The original Cragburn was built on Ashton Road, Gourock in 1935-6. The building featured prominent art deco fluting along its front North-facing elevation. It consisted of a large auditorium with a stage. Many local bands played regularly for dancers from 1936 to 1966 including Charlie Harkin's Kit Kat Orchestra and Henri Morrison and his Swingstars.

As the pop scene started taking over in the 1960s, the big band scene started to go into decline, and although the pavilion continued to be used as a facility for variety shows, pantomimes and functions, by the 1990s the building was sold by the local authority to a developer for housing.

The much-loved building was where many of a generation met their life partner so it holds a special place in many local’s hearts.

Bowman Rebecchi would like to welcome all our new clients at Cragburn Gate.
