Inverclyde Ranked Fifth In Most Affordable UK Places To Stay
Inverclyde is one of the most affordable places to live in the UK according to new figures.
The area ranked fifth on PlumbNation’s list and is the third most affordable Scottish location to feature.
The study analysed average house prices and salaries in different areas of the UK.
In Inverclyde, the average house price is £120,807, with workers earning an average annual pay of £29,572. This represents a salary-price ratio of 4.23.
The data also shows that the area’s average house price has risen by 20.25 percent in the last ten years, the third lowest increase in the UK behind Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.
Inverclyde features on the list behind Burnley, North Ayrshire, Hyndburn, and West Dunbartonshire. East Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire, and Aberdeen City also featured in the top ten.
Inverclyde’s average house price sits at less than half of the national average of £285,396. Its pay figure, however, is almost £5,000 below the national average.
The average salary-price ratio for the UK was found to be 8.54, just over double the Inverclyde ratio.
