McGill’s Add New Service To Airport Travel Brand

Fly Coaches

McGill’s Group, Scotland’s largest independent transport operator, is expanding its Fly coach network with the launch of a direct service connecting Aberdeen city centre and Edinburgh Airport.

Launching on Monday 28 April, the service reflects the group’s commitment to innovation, customer convenience, and sustainable transport solutions.

It builds on the success of its Dundee to Edinburgh Airport route and is the latest step in McGill’s Group’s strategic expansion of its airport travel brand. Designed with both business and leisure travellers in mind, the direct link between two of Scotland’s key cities and its busiest airport aims to offer comfort, reliability, and value.

Fly Aberdeen will operate eight daily services in each direction between Aberdeen city centre and the terminal doors of Edinburgh Airport. With a journey time of approximately two hours and 40 minutes, the schedule has been designed to align with peak flight times, offering seamless connections for both early mornings and late-night travellers.

Owned by Greenock entrepreneurs Sandy and James Easdale, McGill’s Group has been rapidly expanding its footprint across both local and long-distance transport. The growth of the Fly brand reflects the group’s long-term strategy to invest in high-quality, passenger-first travel solutions that better connect communities across Scotland.

Stephen Riggans, area director for McGill’s Scotland North, said: “Following the incredible success of our direct Dundee to Edinburgh Airport service, we’re excited to bring that same reliability and value to Aberdeen. We know how essential dependable airport connections are. Fly Aberdeen is designed with that in mind, offering a stress-free journey that fits around your flight.”

Tony Williamson, chief executive of McGill’s Group, added: “The launch of Fly Aberdeen marks a significant milestone in McGill’s Group’s strategic journey to strengthen transport connectivity across Scotland and beyond.

“As we continue to invest in award-winning local services and grow our national footprint through valued partnerships like FlixBus, our focus remains clear: to deliver innovative, integrated travel solutions that meet the evolving needs of passengers. Fly Aberdeen is the next step in that journey, enhancing airport accessibility and bringing communities closer to the world.”
