Plan To Change Vacant Shop Into Dog Groomers Gets Approval

A dog grooming business has been given permission to use an empty Gourock shop as a base.

Inverclyde Council planning officials have agreed that V.I. Pet Grooming can use the premises at 64 Cardwell Road.

The unit was previously an Ardgowan Hospice charity shop and was last used by an antiques retailer.

Proposed opening hours are 9am to 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays; 9am to 2.30pm on Wednesdays and Fridays; and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays.

A statement submitted with the planning application explained: “We have put mitigation procedures in place and any dog that is considered a ‘noise nuisance’ eg excessive barking will not be tolerated.

“We are all life-long dog owners and consider ourselves a responsible professionals.”

The proposal was submitted by Rebecchi Architectural with Bowman Rebecchi supporting the letting of the property.
