Progress Towards New Café In Gourock Town Centre

Plans to open a café in former Gourock town centre commercial premises look set to go ahead.

Council officials agreed last year that the former George Young photography studio at 76 Kempock Street could be turned into a food/drink outlet.

An application submitted by Rebecchi Architectural has now been made to Inverclyde Council for a building warrant so that £40,000 of work to fit the premises out as a cafe can proceed.

Property agent, Bowman Rebecchi confirmed at the end of October that a new tenant had been lined up for the unit.

Drawings as part of the original planning application showed there was room to seat nearly 40 people inside, with almost 20 additional seats in the conservatory area plus an outdoor area with eight tables.
