Town Centre Street To Close As Regeneration Project Starts

Work on the makeover for Greenock’s main shopping street gets underway in January, with a section of it closing to traffic.

The first phase of the multi-million-pound makeover for West Blackhall Street will involve making it one-way from the Oak Mall to Grey Place, resurfacing all the footways; and installing new street lighting columns.

Work is due to start on 8 January between Westburn Street and Nicolson Street with this section closed to vehicles to provide a safe working area.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.
